Brand Ambassador Elisabeth
A majority of the time, I never really see myself in the way I've been told I am. Sexy, hot, beautiful. For the most part, I see myself as awkward, normal, and pretty sometimes. Boudoir shoots have become a way for me to not only show people a pretty picture of me, but it's to show myself how I can look and feel when I'm letting go.
Coming from the US, I had done previous shoots in a studio before, which always left me feeling empowered and happy looking in the mirror. Coming to Australia changed my thought process a bit, considering I'm in this new place, this new world, starting a brand new life.
By the time I started searching for boudoir photography around Brisbane, I realized it was time again to sort out my self image and try to help with my self esteem here in this new place.
I had never had a chance to do a shoot in nature, let alone in a public area, so the thought of doing a shoot outdoors and where people could see was terrifying, but also really exciting getting to do something different.
The shoot itself was so much tougher than expected! The trek, the rocks, the wind, and cold water definitely had me worried and wondering, but after seeing the photos it was really worth it.
My initial reaction to seeing myself in pictures is no reaction.. it's a weird feeling seeing yourself in a different way. It makes me happy to see who I am captured in a photo, to see when I need to see it. My body to me is something I honestly try not to think about a lot of the time because I'm not always happy with it, but it's so amazing to be reminded that there's nothing wrong with it, flaws and all.
I'm not crier normally, but I get emotional when I think about how much I need these types of experiences to help remind me who I am and who I shouldn't be afraid to be. There's nothing wrong with being sexy or sensual or beautiful because everyone is in their own way.
The photos made me feel sultry and different because out in nature makes you change how you pose, it makes you adapt more than just sitting in a studio. No matter how sore my calves and feet were after the shoot, it was so much fun and a great experience.
Sexy to me, is being able to be myself fully. I think out in nature is where I can at least try to let go more than usual because you don't have control over the elements, you just have to go with the flow (or the wind in this case).
