60 plus and fabulous

Sometimes we need to be reminded that femininity and sensuality do not have an age restriction.

Recently I had the privilege to get to know and photograph Karen, a strong and beautiful woman with soft eyes. Karen is a wife and a mother, she is also a grandmother, but first of all, she is a woman. A gorgeous woman who loves playing tennis, drinking tea and is determent to praxis yoga at least until her 79 birthday.

 "I met with Marina prior to the shoot so she could get to know me and I could get to know her. In the next hour over tea, we felt like friends. On the day of the shoot, I can't tell you how nervous I was. I did not feel sexual or even sensual so how was I going to do this? I was not young anymore I was in my sixties. As I neared the hotel where the shoot was I thought about turning around and going home but I knew I could not let Marina down. In the hotel room, Marina did my makeup and hair over a cup of tea. We went over the clothes I had bought with me. Marina started the session firstly photographing in a dress, then a top and slacks until I felt completely at ease, which to my surprise I did.  

I left the hotel and I have to tell you driving home I felt several feelings - I felt liberated, good about myself for overcoming my fear and doing the shoot but I actually felt sensual and maybe even a little sexy again like a woman likes to feel, like we felt years ago before life, over the years, took its toll. It was nice that someone took the time to make me feel special. Thank you, Marina, for the special gift you gave me that day. I would recommend this to all who want to give it a go. "
