MIss Y

Miss Y is a wonderful woman with a fascinating life story. I had the honour to photograph her boudoir and capture her uncoated vulnerability. Miss Y was generous to let me share her interview and photographs with you.

1 - What makes you feel amazing?

When I can thoroughly be myself, stand in my power, be seen, heard and held by another human without judgment.

2 - What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

My desire for deep connection (with people) requires me to keep my heart open, be vulnerable and love unconditionally and without attachment - this is the bravest thing I do - every day.

3 - Share 5 things you like about yourself?

I am: adventurous, intuitive, courageous, kind, see the beauty in everything and have an immense zest for life - and I tend to be a bit rebellious at times.

4 - Tell me a little about your life.

I was born and raised by my amazingly strong mum in Germany. Soon after finishing high school I started travelling the world. Aspiring to become an actor I lived in New York City for 6 years before following my heart back to Germany where I lived and worked in Hamburg until Australia called me to come down 10 years ago. Today, Brisbane is my home. I work to pay the bills, study for intellectual stimulation and generally enjoy life to the fullest.

5 - What in your life are you most grateful for?

I am grateful for my partner who keeps teaching me how to be a better version of myself on a daily basis; my yoga practise as it keeps my physical body as well as my mind happy and healthy; and my family (of friends) who stand by me through the good, the bad and the ugly.

6 - What is your happiest memory?

Finding love.

7 -  If six-year-old you were here right now, what would you say to her

Trust your ability to create your own reality - you can be whatever you desire to be; go out and explore the world with an open heart; be kind; do good, and let go of expectations.
